Various types of aircraft play an important part in ‘The Java Gold‘ .
But nowadays, almost three quarters of a century later, most of the types mentioned have passed into history. Some may be found statically displayed in museums around the world.
The only exception to this rule is the venerable DC3 or C47 or Dakota, of which a few score are still flying. And some of them in active service too.
For those of you who are really interested in historical aircraft I have added a short description and, whenever possible, a photo and/or video of the type. Many of them are mentioned in Book One and Two while some of them will play a role in the subsequent volumes.
